Mary Labberton is applying to participate in Charleston Fashion Week next year as an emerging designer. I met with her and her sister Kinsey at Mary’s studio and filmed this short for her submission.

Back in January I had the opportunity to shoot Brett Gardner of the Yankees. He played college ball for CofC and eventually made it to the pros in 2008. He was the last run to cross home plate in the old Yankee’s stadium and he’s one of the fastest players alive today. Moreover, he’s a really nice, down to earth guy. He seemed quiet at first, but after a few questions about his stats and his history with the school, he became very animated. The off season scruffy beard helps too.

His nickname is Brett the Jet, so we met at the USS Yorktown for the shoot because it was the most convenient places to find a fighter jet. The shoot coincided with the magazine’s “fashion” issue, so it was decided Mr. Jet should put on his Sunday best and show us how it’s done. I’m a big fan of fancy clothes in odd locations.
